A philanthropist and community leader, Otunba Olayemi Adeniyi, has strongly condemned the brutal attack carried out by armed bandits on Ayegunle-Igun Community in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State in the early hours of Monday, which claimed the lives of three innocent citizens and abduction of residents.
Armed bandits descended on Ayegunle-Igun Community in the early hours of Monday in a brazen and coordinated assault that left the community in shock and mourning. The attack resulted in the gruesome killing of a head teacher and two other innocent residents. Several other members of the community were abducted as well as travellers plying the highway.
Reacting to the tragic development, Otunba Olayemi Adeniyi described the attack as heartbreaking. He extended his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and the entire Ayegunle-Igun Community.

“Condolences go to the families of the deceased, the entire Ayegunle-Igun Community and all those affected by this unfortunate incident. I pray that Almighty God grants the departed eternal rest and gives their families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“The loss of these innocent lives is painful and heartbreaking,” Otunba Olayemi said.
While commended men of the Nigeria Army for their swift response and rescue of 23 victims, Otunba Olayemi issued a firm call to action, urging authorities at all levels to prevent re-occurence.
He called on the Federal, Kogi State Government, security agencies to bolster security across the Ayegunle-Igun Community and its environs to prevent future attacks and protect the lives and property of innocent citizens.
