You have about a thousand political appointees that you pay monthly without paying them half payment but here lies the unfortunate civil servants; the messengers, drivers, clerks, gate men and pensioners who have not been paid for up to 15 months. This has thrown these set of people into an arena of poverty, hunger and psychological breakdown, yet you call these administrative wisdom or strategic thinking.
Sincerely speaking, this is what the 21st century social and political thinkers call administrative foolishness, with the greatest value of political and administrative nuisance.
Please, when I used words like foolishness, I am not trying to insult anybody but whether we like it or not there are certain political and administrative behaviours that fits into the definition of foolishness. Foolishness is not an insult but a state of existence. Many behaviors of this administration are in consistent with the meaning of foolishness. Instances like arrest of opposition and critics of the administration, non-accountability of resources, inflated contracts, lies, fraud, non-payment of workers salaries etc.
Yahaya Bello’s government dwells and believes in the concept of basic injurious lies and fraud. Going by the basic analysis of the concept of TRUTH in the 21st century, one will discover that there exist the era of;
– the truth
– before truth
– post -truth.
Unfortunately, the administration of Yahaya Bello is operating on the principle of the POST-TRUTH; an era where there is less emphasis of logical and strategic reasoning, but more and more emphasis on personal emotions and felling towards economic emancipation for friends and family and other sycophantic element of the administration.
A situation where by administrative foolishness have taken the driver seat, while administrative and political wisdom have taken the back seat. Wisdom is receiving a bashing while administrative and political foolishness is receiving commendation.
The nuisance and foolishness value, which is the administration’s contribution towards the under-development, dis-orderliness and irrationality in Kogi state is at the highest echelon. The administration has successfully branded its foolishness up to the extent that the few political sycophants believe that it is operating on the wings of wisdom.
This is an administration that political and administrative foolishness coupled with resource waste are not scorned, but are strategically presented and branded to receive praises and rewards from the ‘wisdom-less’ sycophants in the state.
My fellow Kogites what we experiencing in our dear state in and era of extra-ordinary times, where bad governance, hunger, poverty, infrastructural decay and insecurity have overtaken our land. Only extra ordinary people with vision can salvage our land.
There is no perfect political setting or leadership, because nobody in the world can supply that, but what we are requesting from the administration of Yahaya Bello is just mere semblance of performance.
