Not only is it insane for any responsible government to starve it’s state workforce for 8 months but also it’s ungodly and inhuman. the deliberate refusal of kogi state governor to pay salaries is not affecting the workers alone but recklessly destroying the future of the leaders of tomorrow as parents can no longer pay school fees and afford daily meals for their family.
It’s so unfortunate that Bello and his cronies has chosen to paint the youths in a black light, as he mistakenly became the first youth who accidentally ascend the helms of affairs of kogi state since it’s creation, instead of righting the wrongs of the old men who had happened to be victims of our tongue lashes, he rather pictured them to be the best things to have happened to the state.
Yahaya Bello’s vehement refusal to pay workers their salaries and his recent financial rascality is but a clear case of one who do not have grace to fall from, not only has he ruined the chances of the Youth’s constituency but he has also worked relentlessly in making the state appear in the news for the wrong reasons.
Kogi has been relegated back to the old dark days since Yahaya Bello stepped his foots in lugard house, as the perceived hopes and opportunities staring at the face of the state are no longer anywhere to be found, the peaceful co-existence between the ethnic groups have been tattered and thrown to the dogs, kidnapping and robbery has skyrocketed, and kogi is now but a danger zone where it citizenry can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed.
In the face of this financial crisis rocking the state the no-direction government of Yahaya Bello has concluded plans to extravagantly squander another 12 million dollars to purchase suv jeeps for his rogues of same character under the guise of commissioners. And this has caused me to start believing those who posited that Bello is a Pharoah sent by God to the people of kogi state to punish them.
Kogi state happened to be one of the state of the federal Republic of Nigeria which has assessed the bailout fund and yet it’s work force felt no impact, there’s no infrastructural development ongoing as sign to justify that the bailout fund has been assessed, the only thing the government has been doing everyday and night is birthdays, naming ceremonies, attending and spending whopping sums at weddings of the state so called commissioners and what have you.
The bailout fund came with its specific purpose. it was thought out as a policy aimed at offsetting the backlogs of salaries and wages owed, but the opposite is what we are going through in kogi state.
Yahaya Bello Kogites are dying, children are starving, households are perishing and wallowing in abject poverty, please we are calling on the government to take the bull by the horns and do what is expected of any sane government.
Pay salaries and save the integrity of the civil servants.
