The gruesome murder of two promising young men; Mallam Kamal Ibrahim and Yunusa Abdullahi by unknown gunmen at their residents yesterday at Agassa Community in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State which
has dotted various social media platform is heart breaking, depressing and barbaric.
This is sad and condemnable, with all vehemence.
We are all God’s creatures before any religions be it Islam, Christianity and animism and let us keep our humanity as the two prominent religions I know frown at such. We are all brothers and members of one family.
I want to call on the perpetrators of the heinous crimes to retrace their steps and remember that “we are Ebiras who live a communal life and uphold the sanctity of our brotherhood. These killings, murders are alien to us and we must do everything humanly possible to arrest the situation”.
I know that government of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is leaving no stone unturned in the renewed efforts to tackle the security menace in the land. I want to urge all security operatives to work like a team while the citizens in Kogi Central must show understanding and cooperation to help unravel the disturbing issue.
As the General Elections draw nearer, I want to urge all aspirants jostling for positions in various political affiliations not to be involved in politics of “do or die” by overheating the polity and let us continue to play our intervention role by offering useful suggestions and cooperating with the government to remedy the situation as the Government is trying its very best, putting in place adequate measures to guarantee a crime free society where people would
go about their legitimate businesses without fear of molestation or attack.
Let us all be joined as forces to be the voice of change, safety, and presence for our families and communities. As individuals joined together, our many voices are amplified as one to nip in the bud this ugly incidence.
May Almighty Allah grant the souls of the victims eternal repose and may it never raise its ugly head anymore.
