Former Senator Smart Adeyemi and other aspirants of APC, in attempt to fool and deceive the people by visiting Federal Ministry of Works, Abuja, called on the Ministry to come and fix some roads in Kogi State.
The move not only laughable but clearly defines their height of desperation and fear of looming failure on the part of APC led Kogi government.
Our brief attention is on former Sen. Smart Adeyemi who was in the Senate between 2007-2015 (8 years).
For eight years, one of the major road which he’s now attempting to deceive himself with, Kabba-Omuo road, steadily deteriorated under the glaring eye of Sen Smart Adeyemi and no step or action was taken then to draw the attention of government.
For 8 years as serving Senator, Smart never visited any Ministry of Works, either in the federal or state level because of any road, for any assistance in Kogi West.
Now that election is fast approaching, he went desperately as an ordinary aspirant to call on the Ministry to come and commence work?
What will an aspirant influence in the Ministry?
If a man is in government for eight years and never deem it fit to use such government contact to attract development for his people, only to step out of his stranded abode as an ordinary aspirant to attempt any influence now is most comical and childish, both in content and practice.
Smart Adeyemi as Senator collected money for the building of a Federal Medical Centre, Annex to be built in his home town, Iyara, but never did it. Till today, if you go to Iyara, you will see the dilapidated building inside the bush as constituency project, but the fund was collected by same Senator.
Odokoro- Iyara road was awarded by the then Acting Governor of Kogi State, contract given to a company affiliated to Senator Smart Adeyemi, we all know till date no work has been done and the fund was pocketed by him.
A man who could treat his own community with such neglect, wickedness and initiated its under development can’t be taken seriously again to be entrusted with Kogi West Senate seat.
One thing gives me joy, the good people of Kogi West are beginning to wonder and asking questions; what did a man who had 8 years opportunity in the Senate and achieved nothing for his people except Kwara state where he was been celebrated as the fourth Senator, going to do again after duping Kogi West?
Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye, under three years, attracted one hundred and forty nine projects (149),
has the highest motion and bills in current 8th Senate, including the lofty Bill for the establishment of Federal University of Agriculture, Kabba (FUAK).
This bill have since passed through the Senate successfully and had serious contributions from Kogi West academia, elites and students, both at its inception and during public hearing.
His legislative prowess also earn him best Senator of the year 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Sen Dino Melaye secured 12 board appointment for Kogi Westerners.
While Sen Dino Melaye was busy lobbying, negotiating, struggling for employments opportunities for Kogi West constituents, agitating for federal projects which under three years earn to his credit 149 projects, Sen. Smart Adeyemi was seriously busy building big hotels, eateries, event centres at Ilorin, Kwara State.
What will an aspirant influence?
As a serving Senator, Smart Adeyemi never visited Ministry of Works because of Kogi West, but because of election, he went deceitfully as an aspirant. What a desperation!
The good people of Kogi West will never fall for this deceit, desperation, dull attempts and shame.
Enough is enough!!!
