The grips of those who churn out harlots and compound promiscuous nitwits must be unclenched to given the State some sanity, and save her from further image destruction by so called beauty queens and pageant organisers who are not fit to lead primary school parade. These class of people,  some of whom are morally bankrupt to say the least, are outside there putting the State in bad light.
Ladies whose feet ought be beautiful because they are ambassadors of and for the State, they are the frontiers of the State image making, but what we are contending with before our very eyes is at best people corporate in every pro Social Vices.
I can’t be proud of the products of these pageantry. I can’t. They embody the worst we can offer the world. They are not the true representative of the “cream De la cream” amidst us.
The organisers have dropped the bars for monetary gains. The State cannot continue to sit akimbo while some terrible and quack business men bake out queens in the name of Kogi State.
As long as the name of the State is involved, Kogi State Government must wade in to protect image of the State. Enough of railroading the Government into accepting mediocrity. They are called BEAUTY QUEENS for a reason!
Queens are conspicuous personality along the chains of product advertisement and marketing, that’s why you see multinationals make efforts to go for the best among the lots. They are easily seen and noticed and that alone gives inquisitiveness. They attract people’s attention and they will ask questions, journalists would want to talk and interview, TV personalities would want to host. NGOs would like to partner, events planner would like to leverage on them for future pageantry, some of them would be made to anchor events, programs, Like that, like that. As they flaunt about, they preach the State. The potentials that are inherent would be sold to the larger world. People would know the State more for all her exceptional qualities.
But in our own State-Kogi, our queens are not seen, they are not known. They are not fit for anything other than promiscuity and they are always very dirty and ugly. The have no carriage and charisma and they, mere looking at them lack the confidence to express themselves among beauty queens from other States.
The implication of government aloofness is that it sends a very bad and negative impression to the bigger community that the government is not interested in the affairs of those they superintend. If they do, our ambassadors should be those with acceptable qualities, characters and charisma.
We are being faced with everyday characters that parades themselves as beauty queens, queens who are to take the stage before the back stage are the ones leading in image making. The number of Misses in Kogi is even confusing.
Kogi State is far better than the quacks, ngweke and oluku we are promoting and fronting and the State Government must arrest the situation before it snowballs irredeemably.
Ministry of Youths, Culture and Tourism must wade into this sector. The organisers should be made to sign a MOU for a decent event. It must be transparent and squarely monitored. Enough of this shabby and shady event.
Kogi State is better than this.
We have gone to sleep in this sector and every riffraff would just come up/forward with his own Miss this and Miss that. And they are getting away with it, denting the name of the State with those quacks and aberration they call queens.
We shouldn’t be too naive, some of the people that passed their way to become queens here in Kogi are not fit to be anything near queen and they do not represent the decent people we are as a State.
This post is not aimed at maligning and or ridiculing anyone, but we must do things that wins the nod and thumbs of people. You can’t satisfy everyone, but give us the best, some of our bests should be out there as queens.
I am more passionate about the State, everything that gives us good image and impression should be supported. The present State of allowing people use the name “Kogi” as a platform to defraud people and stage a very bad and disgraceful pageantry should do.
Everyone who intends to organise his or her own pageantry can do that carving their own name and leaving Kogi out of it.
Thank you.
This is from a clear mind.
