The juice in the current political caravan in Kogi state is that in the whirlpool of controversy, strong and visionary decisions are being taken. Kogi makes history today as one of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s state executives which would bring the voice of Kogi into the national convention of the party is someone with a physical disability. In the current composition of government, there is a Senior Special Adviser to the Government on People With Disability. That is besides the reality that we have the youngest cabinet in the country.

There are challenges, but wait, enjoy this particular news.

From the ward levels running into the state, there’s someone With Disability that is leading in active capacity. When you think of “inclusion” in government, the New Direction guys have stoned the devil on this one.

Abdullahi Bello has also emerged as the APC State Chairman. He is from Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State. The strong point behind his emergence is that the power sharing and rotation has still been maintained, the former chairman, Senior Haddy Ametuo is also from Kogi Central, but it seems Abdullahi Bello might be younger and with party consensus, which eliminates any foundation for the factionalized crisis which has bedeviled the state. It is however a clarion call on responsibility and a sense of duty for the new chairman to ensure there’s internal peace within his party because when there’s such crisis, Kogites bear the brunt, not politicians because they have nothing to lose while disrupting the process of governance which might have benefited the larger populace.

It was also on record that the factionalized Haddy Ametuo/ Audu and Faleke group claims to have held their own congress today. Those who reported the event were confused between the location of their own Congress, some said “Abuja” others said it was held at a primary school somewhere in Lokoja.

Fortunately for their Congress, Haddy was returned as the State Chairman again. If for nothing, if a parallel congress is to have foundational traction, how can re-election of the old exco be ratified when they badly managed the crisis that rocked the APC in the state? That one is their own consignment.

For those holding parallel congresses, was there two INECs in Kogi State or Abuja, which conducted the Lokoja Stadium Congress of the APC and the Haddy Ametuo’s own held between Abuja and a Lokoja primary school?

The APC committee that monitored the process, were they also co-joined twins with omnipresence? Wonderful things would not kill Kogi.

Conclusively, next week Saturday, when the APC holds their national convention at Abuja, who would be representing the state at the national convention? I would agree that all that would put the agitations to rest.

In the meantime, Shiru Lawal on his two years anniversary, recognized the strength and consciousness of people with disabilities. A bird whispered that Shiru is working hard in Lokoja because he is under pressure. That is fantastic anyway.

On the Congress, the APC has also carried along that very vulnerable segment of the Nigerian society.

Congratulations to Abdullahi Bello.
