Opinion: Inexhaustible Justification of Tea, Goat Empowerment

Sadly, I read in many online platforms where and when literates were showing the need for a special literacy scheme for literates. Not to longer teach how to read and write but to unlearn and relearn the kind of orientation literates move about with. But before then, I hope the mix reaction that trailed the sequential empowerment scheme of Governor Ganduje of Kano state and Governor Aminu Bello of Sokoto explains enough why stealing has become prevalent in our society today.
Unarguably, it is because we(Nigerians) have exchanged the restraint in begging for pride in exorbitant lifestyles and by large extension sending into extinction self esteem. If otherwise, it is then because we have failed to know the difference between empowerment and needs sustainability. Oh yes; “empowerment and needs sustainability” for as homogeneous as people think of empowerment, it goes beyond the short term measure.
Ideally, empowerment is any form of development or assistance that can make an individual self dependent while need sustainability is any assistance or development that can give an individual his immediate comfort and good living and this for sure justify the gesture of the two excellencies.
Having understood the contradictory terms of judgement, I make bold to say-for some people, not even a valley of gold can answer their needs while for some, all they need to be happy is a source of revenue for three square meal. Hence, exactly where the empowerment comes in.
Based on findings, tea sells is not just a lucrative business with guaranteed daily patronage but a very enterprising venture with little or no allergy across climates and the reproductive efficiency of goats is so significant that a she goat can reproduce average of two birth in a year. So, in an interwoven justice, any of these venture can raise the standard of living of a dire and poverty stricken home if diligently practiced.
Lest I forget, the true dividends of democracy ought to be felt at the downtrodden where a major bulk of votes cast are gotten from rather than that money be wasted on flamboyant expenditures such as motorcycles, cars and inexistent grants which has characterized stewardships without any justification afterwards of its years-in and out.
While it is not as though the scheme deserves a one hundred percent commendation, the hopes in offing and the non complexity of their quick expansion makes it a matter worthy to join in defense. Truth be told, if leaders hitherto look towards developing out indigenous entrepreneurship like these two governors have done, the several cases of SMEs funds embezzling that often herald the EFCC headlines will hardly arise.
Let it be concluded that an idol mind is the devils workshop and any scheme that tends to keep people genuinely engaged should be commended, no matter how little. In the end, true wealth is a function of contentment and not the amount of coloured notes in one’s pocket or bank account.
