“…leadership is about service and serving the people is a communion Hon. Halims clearly won’t renege.”

As the Honorable Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims strives to leave a mark for himself in the sands if time, Omala Local Government deserves a significant account as it is not only dear to the Federal Lawmaker but quite deserving of maximum attention for reasons not too farfetched.

To set the record straight, whereas Hon. Halims hails from Angwa in Ankpa Local Government Area, Omala has unarguably been a second home to him by the virtue of his long relationship with the people of the area. Among other fellowship, the undying support of Omala people to Hon. Halims since 2011 to date, is a story for another day.

Upon his inauguration into the National Assembly on 11th July 2019, Rep. Halims announced two critical appointments even before the formal submission of names of Legislative Aides to the National Assembly Service Commission by members of the ninth National Assembly and these two appointments were Hon. Josiah Achimugu and Hon. Tairu Sule as Secretary and Personal Assistants, respectively.

In his own wisdom, what this intended to achieve was that if an Omala son works with him as his Secretary, there is no way he would ever leave out Omala which has not just been his greatest political haven overtime but a place he calls his second home and true to this, the first motion he moved on the floor of the National Assembly was xbcbbccbcbcb.

This motion followed an earlier matter of urgent National importance on the need to rehabilitate the Ajaokuta – Itobe linkage road.

Fast forward to 2021, despite the competitive pressure on the location of Constituency projects and intervention programs, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims has been able to situate a number of projects in Omala Local Government Area and among these projects are but not limited to the construction of solar powered boreholes at Abejukolo Motor park and Oleji to improve the provision of potable water to the people of the area.

Understanding the significance of street lightening to urbanization, Hon. Halims has also completed arrangements for the provisions of solar powered street lights which shall be installed from Anyigba junction to Abejukolo garage. Also knowing fully well that no society grows in an atmosphere of insecurity, he recently urged the Chief of Defence Staff to approve the immediate establishment of a Naval Security Outpost In Bagana in a view to render permanent solution to the incessant crisis that has bedevilled the area.

Among other things, Hon. Halims have always placed Omala in the first order of his empowerment programs, capacity Building trainings, stewardship reports, general recommendations for employment, attention to community as well as response to plight and the most recent of these priorities are separate promise to construct motorized boreholes at Bagaji, Olla and Ogodu communities.

Hitherto these developmental efforts, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims have through his sound Legislative acumen moved a motion for the investigation of the Bagana – Guto bridge project that has been long abandoned by contractors handling the project and efforts are seriously on towards achieving its completion which will no doubt boost economic activities in not just Omala Local Government Area but Igala land as a whole.

By and large, Rep Halims have within a very short period demonstrated love for Omala Local Government Area and when the 2022 fiscal year budget execution commences, projects such as the construction of six classrooms block, Olla Erosion project, Agbenema Health Care and several installation of electricity transformers will not only amount to developmental spree but deepen the already existing love.

Of a truth, Leadership is about service and serving the people is a communion Hon. Halims clearly won’t renege. All he needs is the support and attention to do more for in the end — Qui Sera Sera.
