The story of political endorsement of the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello by the Kogi Traditional Rulers under the chairmanship of Attah of Igala Land during the courtesy visit to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari is the news that is treading in media circle in Nigeria today.

Many described the action as a wrong step taken by the Kogi Traditional Rulers who their people are suffering as a result of Bello’s maladministration and bad governance while some especially Bello’s appointees and praise-singers described the action as a right step in a right direction.

However, it’s expected of traditional rulers to be neutral and apolitical in democratic society like ours but reverse is the situation in Nigeria as at today.

Although, I learnt that one of the monarchs (name withheld) in an interview recently said “Our Hands Are Tied, Buhari’s Visit Save Our Thrones”. This was according to Kogi based online news media platform, Observers Time. To me, Governor Bello cannot dethrone any of them if they refuse to do his wish. That is to say, the excuse is not genuine.

Anyway, the deed has been done. We cannot continue to insult our traditional rulers for this singular act. NO. We cannot continue the name calling because of the unexpected visitation to Aso Villa by our traditional rulers.

Let’s launch serious political campaign against our OPPRESSOR (Yahaya Adoza Bello) now. Let’s prove to the whole world that we know how to vote in Kogi State. We did that against Late Prince Abubakar Audu in the year 2003 when he refused to pay salaries and Capt. Idris Ichala Wada in the year 2015 for his inability to meet our demands as a group of people.
Let’s repeat the same action comes November, 2019.

Bello Must Go.
