Wonders it is often said will never end when it has to do with Kogi State. Or how do anyone rationally explain the provisions for burials in the 2019 Appropriation Bill?

The Confluence State is notorious for being in the news for bad reasons always and it beats imagination that while the living are in agony, the dead are being given adequate recognition from State resources obviously inadequate.

Right from inauguration, Alhaji Yahaya Bello didn’t hide his disdain for living dead (ghost) workers with the vigorous efforts made to clean the civil service of these terrestrial beings receiving unmerited pay from the state coffers. The inept manner the screening exercise was conducted remained the faulty foundation that has situated Kogi State in the quagmire it is in presently. Three years after, a twist is being witnessed as the dead have taken a place of importance in the expenditure of government.

From aversion to ghost workers to love for masquerades and now preparing for those yet to die; Alhaji Yahaya Bello unpredictability is the stuff thrillers are made of.The desperate search for a second term can be transforming.

Who would have imagined The White Lion appeasing the souls of the departed and preparing for those about to meet their untimely end courtesy of his inept, profligate and callous leadership? Interesting times are indeed upon us.

Welcome to the Confluence of Oddities.
