According to historians, there’s always a time in history when it seems as if a chasm has been opened, separating all that went before from what came after again according to a Greek philosopher “to be consistent in nature were inconsistencies. Change is therefore in inevitable and desirable when positive.

Again, His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello may be quoting another Greek philosopher who said, “Da mihi  standi et mundu movebo” translated as “give me a place to stand and I will move the world”.

Kogi state is heterogeneous with divisive influence of language barriers, cultural differences and ethnic suspicion instances of these abound.

Insecurity rose to a high degree of intensity. For instance innocent citizens lost them lives during Echane and Ekwechi festivals, kidnappings were rampant, herdsman’s malady and several forms of attack pervaded.

Employment became skewed, merit was thrown to the winds, assiduity was not rewarded adequately while queues at labour exchanges were lengthening. student unrest and industrial actions also featured.

Lo and behold, by the invisible hands of God, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello emerged as Governor of Kogi State. He has restored peace and harmony, is harnessing the resources of the state for the prosperity and prosterity and has corrected so many anomalies.

Inspite of his enormous achievements, quite normally, a few disgruntled elements grumble and refuse to see his relevance.

I implore all bonafide members and eligible voters to co-operate with His Excellency in his moves to make Kogi state a paragon.

Finally, I seize this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency on the second anniversary of his marvelous rulership of the state. More grease on your elbow Sir.
