Dear Mr. President.
Let me once again express my gratitude and appreciations to Almighty God for shaming the evil guys who wished and celebrated your death and to also welcome you back to the office.
I am a young man just like many other million of well meaning Nigerians who is so passionate about your style of leadership; your anti corruption posture; your disposition towards making Nigeria a producing country rather than a consuming one.
Sir, my reason for writing you this letter is to crave your indulgence and extend the feeling and concern of my good people of Kogi State, especially the Igala/Bassa speaking eastern senatorial district of the state with regards to having a replacement for our Late Honourable Minister who died of a motor accident last year.
You may wish to recall that Late James Ocholi who was the Honourable Minister of State for Labour, died on 6th March, 2016 in a ghastly motor accident along Abuja—Kaduna road, since then, Kogi State is yet to be represented in your cabinet. We are not oblivious of the pains his death brought and the kind of understanding you shared with the
late Minister which we believed has contributed in no small measure to why he is yet to be replaced.
It may interest you to note that Igala/Bassa nation happened to be the most populous ethnic group in Kogi State with the population that outnumbered other ethnic groups put together in the state. It is most painful that an Igala man, Late Prince Abubakar Audu contested and won a governorship election, but the giver & taker of life called him home.
Furthermore, it is obvious and clear that since the death of the duo of Late Prince Abubakar Audu and Hon. James Ocholi, Igala/Bassa are still on the sideline and patiently waiting.
In view of the above sir, as you set to take the mantle of leadership by transmitting letter to the Nigeria Senate this Monday, 13th March, 2017, we seeks your consent to as a matter of equity, fair play and good conscience appoint a capable hand from Igala nation as a replacement for the Late Hon. James Ocholi.
Finally sir, like we have always stood by you, let me once more reassure you of the unalloyed support of Kogi people and Igala nation, in particular for your quest in the reconstruction of our one and only country, Nigeria for good.
Yours faithfully,
— Comrade Yahaya Wada
