Good morning my dear brother. I confidently address you as my brother because you are Idoma and Catholic. I consider every Idoma my brother or sister having been around them in the last 16 years.
I also know your commitment to the Catholic Church and doctrines wherever you have found yourself.
In many private discussions on your roles in Kogi State, I have always stoutly defended you as accomplished professional officer who knows your job.
I always recall your sterling performances in FCT, Training School (Kaduna?), Ekiti State before your transfer to present Kogi State.
Even in Kogi State, your crime busting and control is commendable. However, talks making the rounds among Kogites about the ‘political angle’ of your roles as CP give those of us who can lay any claims to knowing you a huge concern.
I have read the piece of defence put up by your PR department and as a professional in that field, I couldn’t find a worthy line of defence done on your behalf.
My take-away is that you want Daily Post to withdraw their report. No reputable medium will do that sir and I will tell you why. You can also reason it out.
The defence had claimed that you took proactive measures to avert crisis yet the plenary sitting of the State House of Assembly was invaded, chairs were thrown from the gallery into the direction of a member as others scampered to safety. Some members were lucky but a particular member was reported to have been held captive, beaten to stupor and stripped to his birthday dress. If all these happened in a situation of ‘proactive measures’, I wonder what would have happened without those measures.
My courage to write you this Open Letter is not borne out of any personal interests other than serve you as a mirror.
I also did to remind you of the joys and travails of the late AIG Raphael Ige who ironically is from Kogi State but ‘fell’ for politicians in nearby Anambra State. You may wish to recall the sordid details of his last days in service but that will not be your portion through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
K’ocho sir, don’t allow Kogi to taint your sterling track records. May the Lord grant you the wisdom which he gave to your immediate predecessor through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
– Hon Kola Ologbondiyan
