Any moment from now, the Kogi East chapter of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) will unveil Hussein Idris kashim alias Idrisima and Shekuru Yunusa as House of Representatives aspirants for the Idah and Dekina Federal Constituencies respectively.
There is also an indication that Honorable Adejo Akowe, former Chairman, Dekina Local Government, is under serious pressure to equally join the league in order to bring on board his unbeatable record of achievements.
Comrade Amade Edime, a senate aspirant in the party made this known while commenting on recent unfolding developments in the party.
He asserts that “in order to salvage the people of Kogi East we need sound and sincere personalities of their status.”
His comments corroborated that of a senior party leader in the state who similarly dropped the bombshell this afternoon.
According to the party stalwart, “APDA is determined to feature vibrant, purposeful and people’s oriented personalities in the coming elections.”
Attesting to the development, Comrade Edime noted that it was the most recent fantastic move as far as Kogi East APDA is concerned.
In his words: “I’m personally in talks with Idrisima because the man has been a humanitarian. He is the kind of person I would like to partner with to push for development for our people. His philanthropic gestures in the entire Igala Land has been unprecedented. Idrisima is a household name in the entire Igala land and having him to run on our party-APDA will be a great plus to the party.
“Going by Idrisima’s antecedents, everyone knows that he is an incurable lover of the masses; an unrepentant distributor of his personal God-given resources to the less privileged; an empathic supporter and defender of the vulnerable; an advocate for the oppressed and a tenacious fighter of injustice,” the Comrade describes Idrisima.”
The entrance of Idrisima into the House of Representatives race in Idah Federal Constituency has brighten up the chances of the party in that axis considering the huge personality that he is bringing and the caliber of feather-weight politicians being paraded by the other political parties.
However, another development in the party is the expected entrance of Shekuru Yunusa who is said to be gunning for the Reps from the Dekina Federal Constituency. A well-grounded grassroots politician, Shekuru, many have said is one politician whose number one interest is the welfare of the ordinary person in the society.
A social crusader and benevolent personality per excellence, youthfully vibrant and focused politician, Shekuru will be the best thing that will happen to the people of Dekina axis if their current misrepresentation in the House of Representatives is to be mitigated.
However, Comrade Edime affirms that the hierarchy of the party, including himself are in serious talks with Hon Akowe, the erstwhile Dekina Local Government chairman who is yet to give his word.
He stated: “By the time the realignment is made open and Hon Adejo Akowe joins us, then the formidability of our team in Kogi East will be incomparable to none going into the next round of elections.
“The speedy and steady rate at which APDA is pushing to take over the entire Kogi State, especially Kogi East, is incredibly yielding amazing results and it won’t be surprising if the party clears all elective positions in the forthcoming general elections in Kogi East.”
