Onoja Hails Kogi Varsity VC’s Emergence as Secretary General of West African Universities

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor and the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November election, Chief Edward Onoja has congratulated the Vice-Chancellor of Kogi State University, Professor Abdulkadri Mohammed over his emergence as the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities.

In a statement, Onoja described Prof. Abdulkadri as a tested administrator and academic of high repute, whose emergence as the Secretary-General of the sub-Sahara universities will not only sustain the successes of his predecessors but record new milestones.

“The emergence of Prof Abdulkadri is a well-deserved one owing to his hard work, commitment and passion for academic and administrative duties”, the Chief of Staff said.

Onoja also noted that the Kogi State University under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello has made tremendous progress as the institution continues to maintain a stable academic calendar, among other achievements.

He stated that Prof Abdulkadri is a tested hand in academic and administrative capacities. He prayed God to see the new Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities through in his new but familiar position of responsibility to his fatherland and humanity and to grant him strength, wisdom and more knowledge to achieve his goals while urging him to continue to be a good ambassador of the State and country.

Professor Abdulkadri was elected as Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities at the 7th Conference and 9th General Meeting of the Association held at the Universite d’Abomey-Calavi in Cotonou, the Republic of Benin.
