Kogi born social crusader and public policy analyst, Comrade Mohammed Nasiru has stated that the spate of insecurity and killings in the state cannot be halted with repeated dialogue unless decisive measures are adopted.

While reacting to the recent killings in Anyigba, Comrade Nasiru noted that government and security agencies should move beyond dialogues and adopt decisive measures to end the scourge once and for all, stressing that dialogues have failed to yield positive results over the years.

He further noted that “unless there is more to it, the invasion of house and destruction of a PDP leaders residence in Anyigba suggests the menace may have taken a political dimension which if allowed to seethe (God forbid) will make local solutions difficult to arrive at.”

Comrade Nasiru commended the Administrator of Dekina Local Government, Prince Ishaq Okolo for convening a security stakeholders meeting, however, he observed that beyond such meetings, there is an urgent need for the declaration of a state of emergency on the assailants or amnesty offered.

He regretted the bad social decadence that has bedeviled the state so much that young people no longer have respect for human lives or uphold the norms of peaceful coexistence which the state was hitherto known for.
