One Year in Office: Adavi LG Chairman Appoints Ward Coordinators, Elders Advisory Council

As today marks Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami’s one year in office as the Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government, the council chairman has lauded his cabinet members, Traditional Rulers, Security Agencies, All Progressives Congress (APC) party, elected office holders and political appointees, both state and federal level.

He also thanked the good people of Adavi LG across the 158 communities particularly community leaders, concerned stakeholders, women and youths for their enormous support and prayers towards the success of the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello and societal development.

He acknowledged that aside the government that has been the pillar of his administration, the other parties mentioned above have contributed immensely to the success his administration has recorded since he assumed office. He appealed to them to keep it up as he vowed to continue discharging the duty bestowed on him with the fear of God Almighty and the sake of humanity without sentiment or favor, no matter his personal relationship or differences with any individual or group of persons.

The community-friendly council chairman, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami identified unity and peace as the bedrock of every developed society, and as such has seized this opportunity to appreciate his people especially for imbibing the spirit of unity and peace which would enable the LG to attract more community development. 

In his words: “Words cannot express my gratitude to His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello for contributing immensely to my success. I will forever be indebted to him. I thank you my Excellency, the King Solomon of our generation.

“Also, my appreciation goes to the good people of Adavi especially our royal fathers, spiritual fathers, and community leaders. Those people have been very supportive throughout my stay as an Administrator, Senior Special Assistant on Security Matters (Adavi LG), and as the Executive Chairman of my dear Local Government. My people are indeed great, cooperative, hospitable, and accommodating and I am very much proud of them.”

The council boss promised to continue implementing open-door policies, and continuous facilitation of beneficial projects to the Local Government.

“We shall continue to give our best when it comes to Adavi LG administration, the past one has been very good and subsequent years shall certainly be better by the grace of God”, the council chairman guaranteed.

“A year in office is not enough to access my performances but I must say so far so good, I and my cabinet members have not disappointed Adavians, and we will never disappoint. I hope my remaining years in office will be for progress and sustenance of peace and unity among every dweller in Adavi LGA, and also to curb insecurity menace in Adavi Local Government Area.”

Speaking further, the Chief Security Officer in charge of Adavi LG who also doubles as APC leader at the grassroot level donated Sharon Bus to Kogi State Vigilante Group in his domain, and declared openly the names of GYB-PYB ward coordinators across eleven wards in Adavi LGA, and the Elders Advisory Council (both men and women).

He added that they will be fully inaugurated by January and put them on payroll to strengthen the structures of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello Presidential ambition at the grassroots level comes 2023.

In separate remarks, the Council political cabinet members, Traditional Rulers, the three Local Government Secondary Schools in Adavi, Ogaminana Central Market Women, Okada Riders, Artisans, Physically Challenged, NUT, APC Party, Kogi Pillars FC, various Political Group, Community Leaders, Ward Heads, Cultural Groups, and some major key stakeholders gave vote of thanks to end the successful occasion.
