It’s our journey to greatness. It’s our drive to usher in the rebirth of Olamaboro Constituency – to make it a prosperous land for our people.
I stand at the threshold of history today as I pick the Nomination Form to seek my party’s nomination as its flag bearer in the race for the Olamaboro State Constituency seat of Kogi State House of Assembly in the 2019 general elections.
I do so in humility and with every sense of responsibility, knowing fully well the huge responsibility it entails. This step is evidence there is no going back. We have come a long way in this journey and at this point all I see is the great future of Olamaboro Constituency which I seek the opportunity to serve in the Kogi State House of Assembly to help actualize.
It has been over a year since I decided to throw my hat in the ring for this and at no time throughout this journey have I ever gone ahead of myself. I believe that in this race it is one thing at a time.
I believe in the Scripture that says it is not of him that runneth nor of him that willeth but it is of the Lord that showeth mercy. There is a time for everything and a season for every purpose. It is now time for the purchase of nomination forms and I am happy to inform my friends, supporters and the good people of Olamaboro Constituency that I have purchased mine.
Soon there will be a primary election to elect the sole flag bearer of the party to contest this seat with others in the 2019 election and I wish to appeal to those who will be participating in that process to remember as they do, that Olamaboro Constituency deserves more and that is what I bring to the table – the great and lofty ideas that will make us as a people to take our pride of place in the affairs of this nation.
Therefore, in the election, do not forget that the choice before us is the choice between sticking with the status quo, where people see the privilege of the responsibility of being the Member representing us as an opportunity to serve self, and that of moving into the new, the unusual yet not impossible, whereby the region will be opened up for great things through meaningful legislation and competent lobbying for the good of everyone in the Constituency and Kogi State irrespective of tribe or religion.
Dear friends, with your help, I am going into the race to serve. I have prepared myself for this task and all I seek is the trust of my people to dare to be different. I know we deserve more and the more I meditate on that the more I want to go the whole hog. We have overstayed where we are, we have settled for less for far too long, let us try something new.
Let us give fresh, tasty and workable ideas the chance to make our lives better. It is not an accidental pursuit but the product of well thought plans and years of intense passion for the good of my people. I am ready! My word is my bond and the word I give you today, the assurance I represent is that in my time Olamaboro Constituency will be as great as she deserves and this is a task that is possible to actualize.
Together we will make Olamaboro Constituency the darling of the rest of the nation in every good and responsible sense of it. Together we shall restore the dignity of Olamaboro Constituency.
