Since democracy returned in 1999, the first lawmaker that represented Olamaboro state constituency was Hon. Achile Abugede from Ogugu District (1999 – 2003). He contested under the platform of the the defunct APP. Hon. Agbugede re-contested and lost to the PDP candidate, Hon. Zakari Shaibu Ohiemi in 2003.

Hon. Ohiemi, from Imane District, represented Olamaboro from 2003 to 2007 and was re-elected for a second term in 2007 under the platform of the PDP and he is the first and only person to have represented Olamaboro twice in the State House of Assembly.

Williams Adejo (Okadigbo) was elected in 2011 under the platform of PDP before he was removed by Court and replaced with Hon Gabriel Yunusa Olofu in 2012. Hon. Olofu served from 2012 to 2015.

In 2015, Hon. Gabriel Yunusa Olofu lost to Hon. Linus Enenche of the APC.

Something that’s peculiar among all the people that have represented Olamaboro in the House of Assembly is that they where all given a return ticket to contest, irrespective of the district or region they come from.

Ogugu District can’t glamour for zoning when they have never respected zoning.

To go down history lane; when local government chairmanship position was zoned to Imane, Akor James from Ogugu contested against Omachoko.

We still remember how Omachoko died. We still remember how Emmanuel Odiniya and Barr. Ekpa emerged. We do not have short memory.

In 2011, House of Assembly was zoned to Okpo, Edward Onoja contested against Hon Yunisa Olofu, the same agitator of zoning today, did we complain or use thugs to fight anybody then?

When LG chairmanship was zoned to Okpo, Barr. Isaiah Akoh from Ogugu contested against Hon Yunisa Olofu for the post. Did heaven fall?

Now, House of Assembly seat, according to them, should be in Ogugu. Because one person is contesting outside Ogugu, they are all kicking against it. There is a popular saying that: “Those who leave in glass house should not throw stones”. How can you be agitating for zoning at the Assembly level and you fail to adhere to zoning at the senatorial level? Is that not double standard?

The just concluded House of Representatives primary election, Ogugu had up to 6 aspirants, does that mean House of Reps was zoned to Ogugu? Currently Ogugu has a governorship aspirant, does anyone oppose them?

For sake of unity and progress, I am of the opinion that we elect people based on performance and antecedent. It is on that ground that Hon. Linus Enenche, who have performed excellently well in his first term, deserve a second term.

As a man of integrity, he has been tested and he is trusted, since the time he was Olamaboro Education Secretary. He has also proven him self in the House of Assembly when he stood with the masses, pensioners and civil servants against the government who brought hardship and pains upon them in his first tenure. He is truly a man of integrity. A decision which lead to his seat being declared vacant.

Hon. Linus Enenche is a performer, a vibrant member with projects to his name. He drilled bore holes at Ofa, Okpo and Emagaba Ogugu, constructed ten market stalls in each of the following districts; Agaliga, Etukwo, Imane, Adeh, Okpo, Adupi, Ogugu and Alagani Okpo Olamaboro. He also constructed okada park at Agaliga Eturkwo, constructed health care centre at Mabenyi Imani with procurement of SUMEC Firman 500kv generator to power their mosque.

He is the only Assembly member that have represented Olamaboro that have projects, bills and motions to his credit

No need to be sentimentally blind to issues as this.  Honestly, Hon. Linus Enenche has proved himself worthy to deserve a second term in office and he need everyone of us to support him irrespective of our zones and region.

No doubt, the good people of Olamaboro are fully ready to reelect Hon Linus Enenche as he is tested and trusted.
