No fewer than 18 traditional rulers have endorsed the re-election bid of Hon. Yusuf Ahmed Tijani Damisa in the forthcoming House of Representatives polls.
The traditional rulers expressed their support and commitment during visitation by 11 Wards Coordinators Asuehi Support Group in Okene on Friday.
The Ozumi of Okene, leader of Okene council of traditional rulers, HRH. Alh. Haruna Onotu said that having considered the accomplishments of Hon. Ahmed Tijani Damisa, the council would give him its unalloyed support.
”In 2011 and 2015, we gave 75 per cent of the votes. In the coming elections, we want you to be rest assured that we will give him 100 per cent of the votes,” Alh Haruna said.
He said every member of the council was interested in supporting candidates that would bring increased development and peace.
The Ozumi of Okene said that the traditional rulers were hopeful that ”Hon. Damisa will rewards the constituency with more dividends of democracy.
Speaking on behalf of the coordinators of Asuehi Support Group, Comrade Abduljelil Adabara told the traditional chiefs that Hon. Damisa is willing to work with the traditional rulers to take development to the grassroots.
”Hon. Damisa is ever willing to come up with policies that will boost the economy and social infrastructure in constituency, he is aiming for increased entrepreneurial activities in the constituency.
”We also hope that you will encourage your subjects to show their support to the continuity of the Damisa,’’ he said.
