The attention of Ogugu United Forum (OUF) has been drawn to the unfortunate and devastating havoc in Ogugu community following a heavy rainstorm on the night of 8th April, 2021, destroying properties worth millions of naira, rendering numerous citizens homeless as well as subjecting many to untold hardship.

As an indigenous, united, compassionate and progress inclined association, and been acquainted with the level of destruction by this natural disaster, we heartily sympathize with all the victims over this traumatizing experience.

We call on National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), Kogi State Emergency Management Authority (KOSEMA), Olamaboro Local Government council, cooperate bodies, non-governmental organizations and well meaning individuals to speedily come to the aide of these victims and grant them succor in this trying time.

Till this moment, there are trees hanging on people’s roofs causing panic and undue eviction, roofs dropped on each other and shaky walls requiring prompt and proactive measures.

May God grant us the enablement to be there for each other even as we pray for an end to such a heinous occurrence.

Signed:
Odiniya Kingsley Arome
Secretary General, Ogugu United Forum.
