Otunba Niyi Olayemi, the Director General, Ododo/Oyibo Campaign Council for Kabba/Bunu local government area, has described the victory of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded governorship election in Kogi state as historic.
In a statement issued in Kabba on Monday, Otunba Olayemi said the APC candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo won last Saturday election because the people of the state were resolute in their determination to shun divisive tendencies.
He expressed gratitude to the electorate in Kabba-Bunu LGA for their political wisdom and resolution.
“I humbly wish to dedicate it first of all to the Almighty for his divine favor, secondly, to the great people of Kogi State for exercising their civic duty with diligence, and last but not at all the least, to my dear people of Kabba/Bunu for their political wisdom and resolution.
“In particular, I wish to extend my profound thanks to the leaders of our great party, the APC, and other stakeholders for their moral and financial support; the Campaign Council for their efficient planning, coordination, and execution of our objectives; Party faithful for their doggedness, steadfastness, and commitment to the campaign; Royal fathers for their blessings; religious leaders for their prayers and various socio-cultural groups, trade unions, and artisans for believing in our party’s manifesto,” he said.
Otunba Olayemi equally thanked opposition party members who worked with the, covertly in achieving the victory.
“We also thank the almighty electorate for speaking with one voice and resolving to consolidate the laudable achievements of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello by voting the Ododo/Oyibo gubernatorial ticket with a landslide victory to continue the legacy and take Kogi State to the next level.
“Special recognition, however, must be given also to Honorable Samuel Aro, who, for the love of Kogi State, coordinated efforts towards giving total support to our candidate to the detriment of his own party candidate,” he added.
