A renowned advocate of youths in governance, Dr Tolu Omotugba has described the candidature of Mr Oladele John Nihi as apt. He pointed this out on Sunday, 2nd of April while fielding questions from a team of student union leaders from the Kabba/bunu extraction of the state.
In his words; “the ambition of Dele Nihi has offered the Kogi State Chapter of NYCN a blank cheque to take her rightful place in the national order”. He said that after engaging the three(3) known aspirants in a tete-a-tete conversation, it became obvious that only Mr Nihi had the manifesto to steer the ship of the union from penumbra darkness to an illuminating stardom.
“As the pioneer speaker of the SUG Parliament, Kogi State University; a former National Secretary of Okun Students Union; an erstwhile National Financial Secretary of NYCN; a grassroot mobilizer of youths across the length and breadth of the country and a certified Peace Ambassador by the Kogi State Government, one can only say that he (Oladele Nihi) has paid his dues and earned his stripes in our society,” he added.
He frowned at an attempt by some desperate politicians to use the NYCN as a platform to settle political scores with the Governor Yahaya Bello led government by sponsoring Abuja based candidates.
He advised the student leaders to be very civil in their activities as the election date draws nigh while they continue to mobilize their youths in preparation for the poll.
Comrade Omotugba emphasized on the need for a democratically organised process to usher in a new leadership structure as opposed to a selection process, “this is the beauty of our democracy; the minority have their say while the majority have their way”
