Northern Governors’ Forums Pay Condolence Visit to Kogi Governor’s Mother

Members of the Progressives and Northern Governors’ Forums on Friday paid a condolence visit to Hajia Hawawo Bello, mother of the Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello over the recent death of her daughter.

The spokesperson of the Forum and  Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu said their visit to the nonagenarian was to console and sympathise with her over the death of her daughter, Hajia Rabiat Bello whose sad demise took place on the 23 December after a protracted illness.

The forum described the death of Hajia Rabiat Bello as “shocking and painful”, especially given the difficulty for the aged mother to cope with such terrific loss of a daughter.

The Forum pray to God to grant her soul eternal rest and fortitude for the family  to bear the irreparable loss.

The chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum and Plateau State Governor, Barr Simon Bako Lalong expressed the sympathy of the Northern Governors’ Forum to the family and prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He said the leadership of the Northern Governors’ Forum stands with Governor Bello and his family at the moments of their griefs.

In her response, Hajia Hawawo thanked the governors for finding time to come to console her family, noting that such visit would not be taken for granted.

She prayed to God to continue to grant the governors in Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari the wisdom, understanding and wherewithal  to continue to provide the needed leadership for the country.

In his response, the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello expressed profound gratitude to his colleague governors for standing by him as well as his family in their grieving moments.

He said after the earlier visit of the chairman of the Forum to his residence in Lokoja, he did not expect further visits of the entire forum again and thanked the governors for their show of brotherliness, solidarity and comeradarie.
