No Room For Idleness in Our Govt, Kogi Deputy Gov Tells Civil Servants

Civil servants across kogi state have been enjoined to perform their duties effectively in their various beats as civil servants and shun idleness if they must move in the same direction with the programme of the present administration of the state.

The deputy governor of kogi state Elder Simon Achuba who gave the charge in his speech to mark the civil servants day at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja today said civil servants must deviate from unholy way of collecting salaries without coming to work or serving in any capacity in the state as the Alhaji Yahaya Bello led government is prepared to take the state to the next level of development.

Achuba while stating that no government can boost of meaningful development without effective civil service system in place, urged the civil servants to join hands with the present administration of the state for it to achieve a better kogi of our dream.

According to the deputy governor, the present administration of the state has impacted greatly on the lives of the common people and would continue the gesture until the desired result is achieved.

He used the occasion to commend the workers over their patience with government during the screening exercise, stating that the end result of the exercise would be beneficial to the civil servants and the state as a whole.

The deputy governor called for the collaboration of workers with government in the project of making the state one of the best in the country in terms of meaningful development.

The high point of the occasion was the presentation of prizes to the winners of the March pass competition. The office of the executive governor of kogi state picked the first prize while the office of the deputy governor went home with second position prize. The state ministry of justice was honoured with the third place prize.
