The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged security agencies to fish out the murderers of Comrade Abdulmumuni Yaqub killed at Okene, Kogi State.

He was the branch Chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Science Technology Technical Education Board (STTEB).

NLC President Ayuba Wabba in a statement yesterday condemned the killing, demanding for a swift and thorough investigation of the murder.

Wabba urged the police and other security agencies to do all that was necessary to ensure justice was done in the matter.

Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello has said that his government was not in any way after the lives of leaders of the organised labour as insinuated in some quarters.

Bello in a statement he personally issued yesterday in Lokoja, maintained that the claims by the leadership of the organised labour in the state which tend to implicate the state government over the Wednesday assassination of Malam Yaqub was worrisome.

Bello commiserated with families of those who lost their loved ones, and assured that he has already directed the security agencies to apprehend those behind the assassinations of the three persons in the Central Senatorial District of the state in the last three days.

The government has also promised a reward of N1million to anyone who provides useful information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
