All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart and former Kogi West Senatorial Candidate, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has called on the people of Kogi State to support Governor Yahaya Bello in his drive to move the state forward in 2020.

Omolubi made the call in a new year message sent to the people of Kogi State.

He noted that Governor Bello means well for the people and sincerely keen on infrastructural development of every part of the state. Omoluabi stated that all that is required is for political leaders, religious institutions, traditional rulers, stakeholders and indeed the people of Kogi State to give him the needed support for development to happen.

“An overview of Governor Yahaya Bello’s first term shows a deliberate government drive to banish ethnicity, nepotism and tribal suspicion that have held the state down. The appointment of government officials, citing of key infrastructural projects and day to day business of government reflects fairness, equity and even spread, a noticeable trend that eluded the state since creation until the arrival of Governor Yahaya Bello.

“The Governor, through the citing of Rice Mill in Kogi West, electrification projects in the East, roads in Central, the SDGs intervention primary schools remodelling, Kogi Revenue House and several other projects have demonstrated statesmanship, leadership, responsiveness and development in every part of the state.

“Governor Bello therefore requires the prayers, solidarity and support of everyone to drive the state forward. The time for politics is over and what is needed now is working together as Kogites to succeed.

“I congratulate His Excellency Alh Yahaya Bello and His Excellency Chief Edward David Onoja CIK for being pragmatic, patriotic and hardworking all for the progress of the state. Despite very obviously harsh political hostility, needless legal tussle, debilitating gangup, the Governor has continued to live above board, performed creditably and confront seemingly insurmountable challenges.

“The last four years came with most needed civil service reforms, retooling the structure of the state to represent fairness and equity, provision of infrastructure, building industry and balancing dividends of democracy among the various ethnic groups. I am therefore very confident that the New Direction second term will do more with the support of stakeholders. I call on all Kogites and indeed people of goodwill to join hands with the government to succeed.

“God has ordained Governor Yahaya Bello to lead the state at this material time. The Governor through the visit recently embarked upon by his Chief of Staff to various stakeholders and elders of the state has shown statesmanship and huge maturity. Governor Yahaya Bello deserves everyone’s support this time,” he said.
