New NBA Chairman Promises to Take the Bar to Enviable Heights

Barrister Samuel Sunday Owoyomi who has just emerged as the new Chairman of Nigeria Bar Association, Lokoja Branch has promised to take the association to enviable heights.

Barrister Owoyomi made the pledge in his speech shortly after his inauguration at Reverton Hotel, Lokoja, Kogi state.

The Chairman appreciated the past executive members for the legacies they left behind and particularly thanked the immediate Chairman of the branch, Barrister Muyidden Abdullahi for his contributions to its growth and development.

According to him, the immediate Chairman’s tenure witnessed an enviable height which has never been witnessed in the history of the NBA in the state.

Barrister Owoyomi thanked members of the Association for their belief in him by electing him to take the responsibility of leading the bar. He promised not to let them down and reiterated his determination to consolidate on the achievements, gains and legacies of the past administration.

Barrister Owoyomi solicited for the support and cooperation of members to take the association to a more enviable and greater heights and promised to run an all inclusive administration.

Other Executive members that of the Association that will run the affairs for the next two years are Barrister S.T. Momoh and Barrister Akinola Joy, as Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively, while Barrister Olukotun İbukun emerged as the Treasurer.

In his speech, the immediate past Chairman, Barrister Muyideen Abdullahi commended members of the association for the support he received and called on them to give their support for the new administration. He commended the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his support for the association. 

Highlight of the events was awards of honour to the state Governor as the most bar friendly Governor in the state and Kogi for the support to NBA Lokoja Branch.

Amongst those honoured include the State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, Kogi state Solicitor General, Permanent  Secretary, ministry of Justice, Jibrin Okutepa(SAN) and Usman Ogwu Sule (SAN).
