The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has established zonal offices across the country with the aim of enhancing quality service delivery to the closest reach of all stakeholders.
The Acting Zonal Director of the Board for the North Central Zonal Office, Dr. Musa Hatim Koko stated this during his familiarization visit to Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja on Thursday.
Dr. Koko said he and his team were at the institution to strengthen partnership aimed at activating the National Skills Qualifications programs which will further raise the standard of the Polytechnic and produce more qualified professionals in vocational and technical areas.
The Acting Zonal Director stressed the need for the Polytechnic to fast track the process of accreditation for their expired programmes just as he assured the institution of NBTE’s support to ensure quality assurance at all times.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, who commended NBTE for decentralizing the activities of the Board, said it was a demonstration of dynamic administration which will bring about effective service delivery.
Represented by his Deputy, Dr. Kehinde Felix Lamidi, Dr Usman said the Polytechnic is committed to quality service delivery to students, adding that the institution will be visiting NBTE anytime soon for the completion of accreditation processes.
He noted that the administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and TETFUND have been playing huge roles in improving the infrastructural touch on the institution and promised the zonal office of the Polytechnic’s readiness to comply with its directives and solicited their support to further make technical education more admirable to students.
The Zonal Director of NBTE was joined on the visit by his Zonal Administrative Officer, Mr Buba S. Lawan and Mr. Yusuf Musa B, who is the Zonal Accountant of the Board.
Other top officials of the Polytechnic present at the meeting include, the Registrar, Elder Sunday Aiyeetan, the Polytechnic Librarian, Mrs. Ozoho O.M. Audu, representative of the Bursar, Mr. Akoji Isaac Faruna, representative of the Director of Works and Services, Mr. Eniolorunda M. Ernest, amongst others.
