The National APC Youth Coalition (NAYC) has applauded the courageous and timely decision of Hon. Leke Abejide, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State, to resign from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after months of leadership crisis and internal instability within the party.
In a statement signed by Aiyelabowo Adebanji Austin and Charles Osagie, Director General and National Coordinator respectively, NAYC viewed Hon. Abejide’s exit as a demonstration of principle and a commitment to the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
NAYC said Abejide’s record of people-oriented representation and developmental politics in Kogi West aligns with the values and direction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While Hon. Abejide has stated he is watching his next political move, NAYC welcomed him into the APC family and urged him to formalize his membership without delay.
“The ruling party needs credible, tested, and grassroots-oriented leaders like him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We call on APC stakeholders at national and state levels to embrace Hon. Abejide and leverage his popularity and influence to strengthen the party’s standing in Kogi State and beyond,” the statement added.
