Foremost students leader, Comrade Ajagun Opeyemi Samuel has commended the member representing Yagba Federal constituency, Hon Leke Abejide for paying WAEC fees of secondary school students across Yagba land.

Ajagun who is known for his activism and advocacy for the welfare of the students across the state said that what Hon Leke Abejide did is a big challenge to other representatives both at the state and federal levels.

Ajagun said that the students welfare should and must be the primary  obligation of any responsible government because according to him, the importance of prioritizing student’s welfare can never be over-emphasised.

He said that there are so many children across the villages who are willing to go to school but their parents or guardians are bereft of the wherewithal to send them to school.

“In fact, among the children who benefitted from the WAEC fees scholarship of Hon Leke Abejide, I am sure that there are so many of them who are at the verge of dropping out of school because they couldn’t afford to pay the humongous fee of the exercise but we thank God that Hon Leke Abejide came to our rescue concerning that.

“If we take a critical look at the state of this country especially kogi state where so many teachers have been relieved of their assignments, one will not argue the fact that it is hard to make a living, so you’ll agree with me that paying WAEC Fee of one’s child would be difficult for some parents at this time especially parents who have up to three or four children in the secondary school,” Ajagun stressed.

Ajagun said that Hon Leke Abejide deserve a torrent of accolades saying that he is a God sent to the students of Yagba land. He called on the people of Yagba federal constituency and Kogi as a whole to offer prayers to God on behalf of the lawmaker to keep on strengthening him to do more for the people.

He appealed to Kogi state government to declare WAEC examination free for the students and parents to enjoy the dividend of good governance in the area of education.
