Leader of the People Democratic Party National Youth Frontier, Comrade Usman Okai Austin has appealed to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to probe Kogi State Government over alleged diversion of Paris club refund, saying that the state has refused to pay the state workers under the guise of endless screening.
In a chat with media men, the opposition youth leader said that there seem to be “glaring diversion of the funds into phony, bogus and outrageously contracts in Kogi state hence the anti graft agency should not hesitate in probing the Kogi state government”.
He urged the EFCC to take advantage of the Paris club refund diversion to also look into other special funds granted Kogi and diverted by the current administration of Yahaya Bello.
He particularly enjoined the EFFC to probe the N20 billion bailout funds meant for Kogi workers.
Okai said “it will be a disservice to the people and workers of Kogi State if the anti graft agency refuse to look into the books of the state government”.
“In Kogi, it is when special funds is assessed that we begin to see unnecessary jobs and contracts, unbudgeted for, being awarded and houses not due for renovation been classified as dilapidated to create avenue to siphon government fund and loot it’s treasury”
