The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, has described the attacks in Oganenigwu, Dekina Local Government Area over the weekend as a sad and regrettable development.

Hon. Ajaka, in a statement issued yesterday through Muri Network, appealed for calm and an end to the communal violence.

He asked the traditional ruler and the local government chairman to sue for peace and advice against reprisals that might lead to further violence.

He commiserated with the people of Oganenigu and the family of the All Progressives Congress APC ward chairman, Hon James Adah. He prayed for the repose of his soul and comfort for the family.

He decried the resort to violence, noting that it was not a solution to grievances and disputes but a tragic way to escalate matters and drag people into more pain and misery.

“The incident at Oganenigwu is utterly condemnable, and the state government has been quite proactive.

“It is a fact that Kogi State is regarded as the most peaceful state under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello. Let us ensure that we keep the peace as justice will be done,” he said. Of
