The Special Assistant on New Media to the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Julius Olushola Abel, has resigned his appointment.
It was gathered that Abel’s resignation may not be unconnected to the ongoing controversies raised on the Section 84(12) of the Amended Electoral Law 2022.
Abel in his resignation letter addressed to the office of the Secretary to Kogi State Government and made available to newsmen stated that his resignation is to enable him pursue his aspiration.
Even though not clear in the letter, we can confirm that Abel is aspiring to occupy Mopamuro Constituency seat in Kogi State House of Assembly.
In another letter addressed to the Speaker, Abel expressed gratitude to his former boss for the opportunity to serve the people of Kogi State and for launching him into his political journey.
Recall that Julius Olushola Abel also aspired for same contest during 2019 elections.
