Ministry Staff Applauds Ex-Attorney General, Ibrahim Sanni Mohammed SAN

The staffers of Kogi State Ministry of Justice have celebrated the out-gone Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ibrahim Sanni Mohammed SAN, as he bows out of office in grand style.

Ibrahim Sanni Mohammed SAN, is a legal luminary and seasoned professional, who meticulously and meritoriously served a remarkable 8 year tenure in office as the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello CON.

Speaking on the remarkable achievements of Ibrahim Sanni Mohammed SAN as the Honourable Attorney General of Kogi State, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of Kogi State Ministry of Justice, Barr. Hajia Falilat Yusuf Musa noted among others the remarkable visionary leadership and significant impact on the justice system of the state by the learned silk.

Speaking further, the learned Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary noted the dedication to justice, fairness, and the rule of law which revolutionized the legal landscape in Kogi State under the leadership of the learned silk.

This according to the learned Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary was made achievable by the employment of one hundred and fifty (150) lawyers into the Kogi State Ministry of Justice, which employment reflected the three senatorial districts of Kogi State under the visionary leadership of the learned silk, to mention but a few.

The statement read:

“As the learned silk bows out of office as the Honourable Attorney General, the people of Kogi State will forever remember him as a true legal luminary who dedicated his career to bringing about positive change and ensuring justice for all.

“Under the Learned Silk’s leadership, the Ministry of Justice has seen significant developments and improvements. One notable achievement is the award of a contract for the construction of a two-story office complex to serve as the Ministry of Justice Headquarters. This long-awaited project has commenced, and upon completion, it will provide the much-needed office accommodation for the lawyers of the Ministry and other related agencies.

“Another groundbreaking accomplishment during his tenure is the establishment of an E-library in the Ministry. Recognizing the need to modernize and keep up with global legal practices, the Learned Silk initiated this project to ensure that lawyers in the Ministry have quick and easy access to essential legal resources and judicial authorities to enhancing legal research and efficiency.

“The achievements of the Honourable Commissioner during his tenure extend beyond the Ministry of Justice. He established the Law Revision Committee, which successfully reviewed, edited, and harmonized state laws, resulting in the Revised Laws of Kogi State. Hosting the National Executive Meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association in Lokoja further illustrates his dedication to the legal profession and the state.

“An important milestone achieved under his leadership is the domestication of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in Kogi State and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law in Kogi State. These laws among others, brings Kogi State at par with others that have achieved similar feats, ensuring fair and efficient criminal justice proceedings.

“His tenure in office also spearheaded the drafting and passage of 29 bills which further highlights his commitment to legislative reforms and the improvement of the legal system in Kogi State.

“One of the most significant achievements during the Learned Silk’s tenure as the Attorney General is the establishment of the Office of Public Defender and Citizens’ Rights Commission (OPDCRC) presently housed at the new State Secretariat Complex. This office guarantees access to justice by indigent citizens who cannot procure the services of a legal practitioner in deserving cases.

“As Ibrahim Sanni Mohammed, SAN completes his term as the Attorney General of Kogi State, his impact, achievements legacy will continue to inspire and shapen the future dynamics of justice administration system in the state.”
