May Day: Kogi Speaker Felicitates With Workers

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Matthew Kolawole has felicitated with Nigerian workers on the occasion of this year’s Workers Day Celebration, imploring them to observe the health safety protocol of regular hand washing with soap, use of alcohol-based hand sanitiser, social and physical distancing, wearing the of face mask and promoting personal hygiene.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Femi Olugbemi, the Speaker noted that this year’s Workers’ Day is being marked under a very difficult circumstance as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus which the world is battling to contain.

“I sincerely rejoice with the ever resourceful, dependable and committed workers all over the world in general and Kogi State in particular as we mark the Workers’ Day under the banners of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC),” he said. 

He expressed gratitude to all the diligent workers in Kogi State for cooperating so marvelously with the new direction administration to achieve set goals for the collective good of the  state especially the health workers and journalists who are at the front line in the battle to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic.

He congratulated them for witnessing another May Day celebration.
