Makama Assures Youths of Govt Support

Youths of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area have been assured of the support of government in their educational programmes.

The honourable member representing Igalamela/Odolu constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Elder Friday Paul Sani (Makama) gave the assurance at the inauguration ceremony of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) youth forum at Ogbogbo, Ofarachi Ward 1 in Ogalamela/Odolu LGA.

In his remarks, the President of the Forum, Comrade Tahiru Yakubu, stated that the youths of Ogbogbo decided to come together and organise themselves with a view to continually work towards the sustenance of the PDP as the most dominant party in the country.

Comrade Tahiru described the leadership style of Hon. Friday Sani and the Executive Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu LGA, Comrade Zakito Umar as one of the best in the history of the LGA. He added that the high level of unity shown by the House of Assembly member, the local government Chairman and the party structure has eliminated the selfish concept of Igalamela versus Odolu or Akpanya agenda characterised by previous administrations.

Comrade Tahiru stressed that despite the financial challenges faced by the local government, the present administration in the local government has been able to embark on meaningful infrastructural projects. He further described Elder Friday Sani as a youth ambassador, philanthropist and political emancipator.

Speaking at the event, Makama expressed his appreciation to the youths of the local government for their high level of organisation, unity and commitment to the strengthening of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He stressed his belief that the youth are not just leaders of tomorrow but must play their parts in building a better future for themselves.

Makama pledged to work with local government council in assisting youths in the local government who have ambitions of proceeding to tertiary institutions. He further made cash donations and motorcycles to the Youth Vanguard to ease their logistics and transportation worries.

Similarly, the executive Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu LGA, Comrade Zakito Umar described the people of Ofarachi ward 1 in the local government as unselfish and appreciative of the effort of government to develop the land. He called on youths in other political wards to emulate the good gestures of Ogbogbo PDP Youth Forum by coming together as one for the purpose of maintaining the dominance of the party.

Comrade Zakito noted the grading of Ajaka-Ogbogbo road, building of town hall/recreational centre at Ajaka, construction of a permanent police station at Ajaka as some of his projects. He called on the people to remain supportive of the ruling PDP and Captain Idris Wada.
