Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa yesterday joined the people of Gegu Beki for the opening of their new Central Mosque, at an event that brought together community leaders, religious leaders, political stakeholders and residents for prayers, thanksgiving and fundraising.
The mosque project was facilitated by Hon. Mohammed Bashiru Gegu, who was widely commended for his commitment to providing the community with a central place of worship.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa praised Hon. Bashiru for his dedication to the project, describing a mosque as the spiritual home of every community. He noted that providing a place where people can come together to worship, seek guidance and strengthen their relationship with Allah is one of the important things any community can achieve.
Dr. Mahmoud expressed his hope that the new mosque would become more than just a place of worship, but also a centre for peace, unity and positive community life. He prayed that the mosque would become an anchor for the Gegu Beki community, bringing people together and serving generations to come.
In support of the project, Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa made a ₦5 million donation during the fundraising session.
He also congratulated the people of Gegu Beki and commended everyone who contributed in one way or another to the completion of the mosque.
The occasion also provided an opportunity for the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to recognise and appreciate Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa for his continued support for the APC, the administration and his contributions to humanity.
The Governor acknowledged Mahmoud’s efforts and support, highlighting his commitment to the party and his willingness to support initiatives that have a positive impact on people and communities.
The recognition further reflects Dr. Mahmoud’s growing involvement in activities that bring people together, support communities and promote service to humanity.
Dr. Mahmoud prayed that Allah would accept the efforts of everyone who contributed to the project, reward them abundantly and make the mosque a source of faith, peace and progress for Gegu Beki.
