All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the November election in Kogi State, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi has promised to harness the abundant human and natural resources of the state to make it one of the most prosperous in the country.
Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi told APC stakeholders in the state and national levels in the course of his consultations with them recently that he will run an “open, transparent and accountable administration” where the resources of the state will be effectively utilized for the overall benefit of the people and the development of the state.
He expressed regret that despite the abundant human and natural resources of the state, Kogi remains one of the most backward states in the country.
Lulu who was president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) from 2006-2010, promised to apply the APC manifesto as well as his experience in public administration for the overall development of the state if given the opportunity to govern the Confluence State.
Towards achieving this, he said he will re-engineer the financial system with a view to solving current financial crisis, especially the payment of workers’ salaries.
He also promised to overhaul the Civil Service and to give workers welfare the required attention and priority.
In his May Day message to the workers in the state, Alhaji Lulu assured the workers of his desire to “reshape and reposition the Civil Service with the introduction of genuine reform that will include training and retraining of staff and non-interference in the management of local council funds.”
Apart from promising to pay the N30,000.minimum wage recently approved for workers in the country, the APC governorship aspirant pledged to also address the lingering issues of backlog pensions and gratuities of retired civil servants.
