  • As Bello Calls for Private Sector Investment in Kogi Tourism

The Chairman of Lokoja Forum of Patriots (LFF), Alhaji Idris Baba Ango, has reiterated the group’s plans to take the annual Lokoja Boat Regatta to international level.

Ango made this known on Thursday during the fourth edition of the Boat Regatta organised by the Lokoja Forum of Patriots (LPF).

He noted that this year’s edition was an improvement over the previous ones.

The LFP Chairman appreciated the state and Lokoja local governments, corporate bodies and individuals for their support for the event but said that more support was still required.

Speaking at the cultural festival, the Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, said his administration will boost the tourism sector to attract investment and create jobs for the people of the state.

Represented by the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Salifu Idachaba, the Governor said the state vast tourism sites would be developed to enhance the state internally generated revenue.

According to him, the present administration has nipped the aged long security challenges facing the people of the state in the bud.

While congratulating the organisers of the Lokoja Boat Regatta for a successfully outing, the governor called on the private sector to  come and invest in the state.

He equally promised to encourage cultural activities that would bring positive developments to the state.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Lokoja Government Area, Alhaji Danasabe Mohammed, said the annual festival was  already enjoying the support of the Yahaya Bello’s administration.

The chairman equally promised to always identify with Lokoja Boat Regatta and other cultural activities that will  promote Lokoja positively.

The festival featured swimming, cultural display and boat regatta.
