The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) ward chairmen in Yagba East local government area of Kogi state have endorsed the immediate past Council Administrator, Hon. Abdulrazaq Asiru Ijagbemi as the party’s sole chairmanship candidate.
This was made known on Monday after a stakeholders meeting between chairmen of the ten wards in Yagba East.
Speaking on the endorsement, chairman of the forum, Mr Ade Paul said the leadership style of Hon. Razaq is exemplary. He noted that the former council Administrator represented Governor Yahaya Bello well and his efforts helped in rebuilding APC in the local government.
“We, the chairmen from the ten wards, after wide and thorough consultations among stakeholders and the good people of the local government, have come to a conclusion that Hon Razaq, amidst other contenders, is the best option for Yagba East.
“Our endorsement is in line with the desire of party members and the masses across the length and breath of Yagba East local government area,” he said.
The Forum chairman assured the party that they will work with APC supporters and the masses to deliver Yagba East to the party during the council poll.
At a different function, on Monday, the Yagba East Elders Advisory Council of APC endorsed Hon. Abdulrasaq Asiru Ijagbemi as the sole candidate for the chairmanship position. This was followed by a unanimous endorsement by the Yagba East Women Leaders from the ten wards in the local government.
Responding, Hon Rasaq expressed gratitude to the women and elders of the party for the confidence reposed on him.
He promised to work with every member of the party in his desire to make Yagba East a place of pride for all. He called on the party leaders to ignore propaganda and deliberate falsehood being peddled by a few dissidents.
