The Administrator of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Taufiq Isa, on Saturday, officially submitted his intent letter to vie for the chairmanship position in the local government.
The council Administrator submitted his letter to the Elder Abejide-led executives of Ijumu local government chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iyara.
In his speech, Isa said he has decided to consolidate on his progressive and development strides as the Administrator after wide consultations.
He noted that he has done everything humanly possible to support the party and pledged to put “Ijumu First, as usual”, if given the mandate.
“My blue prints will be that of His Excellency, Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello which is centered on health, education, agriculture and human capital development,” he said.
The chairman of the party, Elder Abejide, commended the Administrator for leading the party to victory in the presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial and House of Assembly elections.
He added that Alh. Taufiq is the one of the major sponsors of the party in the Ijumu local government since 2014.
The Chairman also stated that the Administrator has proved himself beyond reasonable doubt that if elected he will perform much better.
Other Executives members also noted that Alhaji Taufiq has paid his dues to the party and so he deserved to be elected.
A session of Muslim and Christian prayers was offered to commit him in the hands of God Almighty.
