Hon Shiru, who made the appeal in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yabagi Umar, said the administrator canvassed for the support when the Ward B team presented the trophy they won in the recent Regatta in Lokoja.

He informed the people that Ward B had never held the position of the council head since the creation of the state, and praised Governor Yahaya Bello for addressing that injustice in the past.

He called for more support to the Yahaya Bello led administration in its quest to reposition the state for greatness.

The statement quoted the administrator to have said; “Ward B has never held the position of the council head since the creation of the local government, either in appointive or elective capacity but God in His infinite mercy brought His Excellency the ever detribalized leader who believes everyone irrespective of the geographical location, social standing or tribe should be given equal right of leadership, who liberated the people by appointing me as the administrator of Lokoja LG.”

It continues; “As such, we should continue to show our undiltued support to the government.”

He also called for more support to his administration particularly during the forthcoming council elections and assured of his commitment to the development of the area and Lokoja at large.

Earlier, the Leader of the group, Mal. Hassan, thanked the administrator and maintained that they were in his office to present the trophy to him and show appreciation on his contribution towards the success of the team.

He promised the area’s unreserved loyalty and support to the GYB led administration and his ambition too when the council poll holds. Recall that Cantonment Ward B Team came first in swimming in the just concluded maiden edition of Lokoja Boat Regatta which earned it a trophy.
