Land Degradation: Ogohi Okura Commends Kogi NEWMAP

Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), Kogi State project office has been commended for its unrelenting effort at ameliorating the suffering of communities affected by land degradation.

The commendation was given by the Ogohi Okura, Alh Yakubu Dajili, when the Kogi NEWMAP team visited his community to set up community association for the Okura reforestation project on the degradated Okura forest at Okura in Dekina LGA.

The Ogohi was full of joy on the successful completion of the solar powered borehole installed at the 20 hectares reforestation project, the rehabilitated forest comprises of woodlots and assorted fruit orchards.

He assured the team of the security of the project facilities.

In his remarks the team leader of FONGO, Dr Abu Ameh, pledged the total commitment of Kogi NEWMAP to delivering on its goals and objectives.
