Permit me space on your robust platform to advance three sound options to Kogi state governor Idris Wada as survival strategies ahead of the planned hijack of party organs and ticket by political hawks working with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC).

It is no longer news that the PDP NWC led by Uche Secondus has made up their minds to snuff-out Wada and impose Jibrin Isa Echocho and Smart Adeyemi as PDP’s governorship and deputy governorship candidates respectively. This should not come as a surprise, Uche Secondus has been on Smart Adeyemi’s payroll long before now. A friend in Wada plaza once told me that if Smart Adeyemi orders Secondus to label his mother a witch he will do so without a second thought. A friend told me he heard it first hand from Olisa Metuh that PDP will fly Echocho/Smart ticket in Kogi. It is not an assumption or rumour again.

I appreciate PDP’s ‘sincere’ realisation of the record-breaking defeat it will suffer come November 21, 2015 in Kogi State and their ‘pro-active’ steps to reduce the anticipated margin of defeat. That PDP will be wholly rejected by Kogi electorates come November 21st is a glaring FACT. In reality, Kogites wished the elections and handing over dates can be moved closer so they can over PDP and all it represents as soon as possible.

Next Tuesday, the PDP hawks will storm Kogi state and re-conduct Ward congresses that will produce delegates who will be used to change party executives and later used to ‘select’ Echocho/Smart to fly the party flag in the coming elections. The question I ask is, ‘Bros Wada, what will be your lot’? Without PDP ticket, Wada might feel slighted, hurt, betrayed or mal-treated by his own party guys but I think he should be happy instead. I have three (3) sound fall-back options for the out-going Governor Idris Wada:

1. Forget 2nd Term and Work For APC

Wada or Echocho, PDP cannot win next governorship elections in Kogi State. A wise man who will not allow himself to be fooled by boot-lickers and sycophants will admit this as a fact. It should be a great relief for Wada to be denied PDP ticket as he can easily make people assume later that he could have won if allowed to contest as incumbent against APC (#winks). My candid advice is for Wada to approach top APC leaders in the state and at national level and strike a bargain with them.  Work whole-heartedly for the electoral victory of whomever emerge as APC candidate in the state and in exchange you may get a quiet retirement benefit. Working for and joining APC is the best decision Wada can make. Already, a chieftain of APC Alh Linco Ocheje had advised you on this before now. Your Siamese Twin, Echocho was equally advised to join APC before the crash of PDP but he refused, now he is busy importing babalawos from Ile-Ife to distribute otumokpo around Lokoja.

2. Forget 2nd Term and Support Power-Shift

The current agitation for power-shift by my own people is your surest option any day. The people of Kogi West and Central are at the moment hell-bent on producing the next governor. Another strong reason why neither you nor Echocho can win November 21st election. Our determination is to pursue this agitation to a logical conclusion without compromise. Just wait and see what we will do to Smart Adeyemi when he comes to West and Central with PDP deputy governorship slot, heaven knows he will deny his Kogi indigeneship when we are done him and his co-traitors. So Bros Wada, use your church-mind and drop your second term ambition and write your name in gold by supporting power-shift come November 21st. Win or lose, you will be remmebered as Kogi state number one progressive. Good name is better than gold and silver. Ponder on this.

3. Decamp to Another Party and Try Your Luck

If the the two earlier options are not mixing well with your illusions then approach one of the barren political parties around and fly their flags as a governorship candidate. You will not be the first to do this because in the last general election, Martin Elechi of Ebonyi moved his preferred governorship candidate to Labour Party after PDP knocked him and his supporters out. We have PDM, APGA, NCP and so many other parties that will gladly offer you their ticket on a platter of gold.

Think about these options very well with your eyes on the future. I wish you goodluck.
