The All Progressive Congress gubernatorial candidate in the November 21 election in Kogi state, Prince Abubakar Audu, has assured workers in the state that he would not retrench any one of them if voted to power.

He told the civil servants that they should disregard speculation being peddled around by his opponents that he would retrench them.

Audu disclosed this while speaking at Oguma, the headquarters of Bassa Local government, on Thursday, during his campaign rally tour in the council.

He explained that the end of percentage salary payment to workers in Kogi State would end as soon as he was voted in and taken oath of office.

Audu added that such rumours remains a figment of imagination of mischief makers, who were out to sow seeds of discord in society.

He noted that the plight of Kogi State workers today was like a dagger in his mind, saying that no responsible leader would allow workers to go home empty handed at the end of the month in this modern age and chided the present government for being economical with the truth over the bailout fund.
