Kogi Youths Endorse Jonathan for Second Term

Youths across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State have expressed their support for President Goodluck Jonathan in the March 28 presidential elections.

They endorsed the president yesterday at the Kogi youths strategic meeting organised by the Northern Local Government Chairmen’s Forum  in Lokoja.

Pioneer Chairman of the forum, Comrade Mohammed Ali, said Jonathan has achieveda lot in his first term and will deliver more to Nigerians if re-elected.

Enumerating Jonathan’s achievements in the area of the economy, agriculture, health, infrastructure, education and creative industry, among others, he said all these is inspite of the instability caused by the internal security challenges.

The chairman said the people of Kogi should support Jonathan for the trust he has in them in appointing a Kogi son as his aide-de-camp, and director general of his campaign organization, to mention a few.

Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter, Suleiman Faruk Omeiza, said Kogi youths came out enmasse to support Jonathan because of the roads he has constructed in the state which were hitherto death traps.

President of the National Association of Kogi State Students, Abubakar Shuaibu Odibah, said students were grateful to President Jonathan for establishing a federal university in Kogi as it has helped provide employment and also alleviated the admission challenges the youth face.

National President of National Association of Nigerian Students Comrade Tijani Usman Shehu who is an indigene of Kogi said the youths of the state stand on continuity and wanted the president to continue so that their lives can be improved.

The youths also called for speedy resolution of the Kogi-Anambra oil dispute, revival of the Ajaokuta Steel Company, and construction of Lokoja-Bassa bridge among other things.
