A political interest group, the Kogi Youths Roundtable yesterday in Abuja, condemned in strong terms what it described as the unconstitutional tenure elongation of the 21 unelected Local Government Administrators in Kogi state.

According to a statement signed by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Comrade Jerry Ochada, the group called on the National Assembly to intervene and ensure strict adherence to constitutional tenets by ensuring that election are allowed to take place at the local government areas

The group said such action will attract more development to the rural areas and bring about more political participation.

The group said the portfolios of Local Government Administrators is unconstitutional and urged the state governor, Yahaya Bello and the State House of Assembly to quickly release the required fund to conduct election at the local government areas.

“As a group, we seek to know how the monies budgeted for the supposed election was spent and we equally wish to know why the said election is still pending till date

“We hereby petition the National Assembly to wade into this unprofessional undertaking of the infiltrated legislature by calling the legislators to order because Kogi state is not different from other states in Nigeria”.
