The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2019 senatorial election in Kogi West, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has called on students to embrace patriotic and people oriented leadership.
Omolaubi made the call while addressing students of Kogi State Polytechnic of Owe extraction at the 2018 Kabba Day celebration in the institution.
He described unionism as a movement for advancing the course of a group of people, their objectives and ideas. He noted that past student union leaders were advocates of the people, opinion molders, critics of bad policy of government.
Omoluabi lamented the dangerous decline and departure from these norms and traditions as is obviously noticed now.
He encouraged the students to dump directionless and docile followership and embrace patriotic and people oriented leadership.
The Senate flagbearer charged the students to see 2019 election as opportunity to vote in people that understands the challenges, pains and most urgent public needs.
“I am a product of virile, articulate, patriotic and people-oriented political and leadership background. I was made of you, made by you, made through you, made in you and surely made for you. I know our basic challenges and I am ready to make the best of representation to come to Kogi West, by the grace of God,” Omoluabi said.
The occasion was attended by dignitaries including a former House of Assembly member and Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon James Olumorin, State Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Israel Alonge and many others.
